Ceiling Fans in Living & Bedroom Areas (reversible) installed with Efficient Ducted Reverse Cycle Air-Conditioning

Reversible ceiling fan - www.thedailygreen.com

Fans should be placed in all living areas and bedrooms. Fans create air movement to provide a more comfortable environment. Fans lower perceived air temperature by 2-3°C, it has been assumed that this will reduce air conditioning loads by 20-30%.

Ceiling fans are an effective means of reducing heating and cooling energy use. Operating ceiling fans during winter pushes heat back down to the level where people can benefit from it.  This reduces the amount of heating required. During summer, the fans provide air movement and reduce (or avoid) reliance on air conditioning systems. Ceiling fans use approximately 1-2 cents per hour to run, but make conditions feel up to 8 degrees C cooler.
